Welcome to Wildfire cooking.com. I started this website with the belief that cooking can be easy. What I aim to do is make you the best possible cook that you can be with limited experience and or equipment. There are many things in the culinary world that leave people dumb founded. Some of these things are processes such as dry aging, dehydration of meat such as jerky’s, and down to the simplest things such as baking chicken breast, pork chops and great steaks. I use a lot of different resources to do what I do, as well as a lot of trial and error. I was never officially trained in a kitchen, but I have worked in a couple restaurants. They did not offer proper training; all they did was show me how to cook the necessary items with no background as to why I do it this way or that way. I basically had to figure out on my own what to look for In terms of something starting to go bad, something not cooking properly and many other things like seasoning, portioning and cook times.

You will be able to find articles on how to shop on a budget and shop as a bachelor as well. I will be posting many more of these articles as this site grows and Ideas pop into my head. You can use the question and answer tab (which is under construction) as your personal tutor, and my plan with this is to help us all grow as cooks and learn different ways to save cash and avoid those kitchen headaches.

There is a bbq and grilling section, and for those of you that don’t believe that gas is great to cook with, I am sorry but that’s what most of my articles will be about when it comes to grilling. But just for you hardcore bbq fans, I will be building my own UDS (barrel smoker) this year and will be posting articles in regards to the process of building your own and the different recipes that I come up with or try. This should be a great process and make for some great reading if you are the do it yourself type. Even if you’re not, I am sure you will enjoy reading along.

You see all these cooking shows and bbq shows on TV, and they are aimed at doing the same thing that I am. To teach people to do it themselves, I think the only difference between them and I, is that I try to make it as easy as possible to follow along. Most of the times the cooking shows go way too fast for you to even realize what they did. I know some people now a days have PVR’S or DVR’S and so it’s easy for you to rewind and take notes. A lot of people don’t have these pieces of technology and miss out or think that it’s too tough to do what he/she did. I will be honest, there are a couple shows that I watch that are very hard to follow and half the time I am doing something else while these programs are on, good background noise though, but there are a few that are very good as well. I have realized that even in some magazines and the best cookbooks that they don’t pay attention to detail. They just assume that the people watching already know the basics. This is where I come in. If you don’t know the basics then how can you even begin? Right. I not only get you going on the right path to a good meal, but I will share some stories along the way. I will make sure that I don’t miss a step. Now, it is very easy to get complacent and forget some details, but I will do my best.
